Philippines Wins at 2008 Olympic Sport & Art Contest

Once again the talents and creativeness of Filipino has been recognized as the Philippines Wins at 2008 Olympic Sport & Art Contest. The entry of Filipino artist Joe Datuin of the Philippines “Dancing Rings,” a stainless-steel sculpture placed 1st and won $30,000 at the 2008 Olympic Sport & Art Contest.

The jury, composed of representatives of the IOC Commission for Culture and Education and art experts from the different continents, announced the three winners in each category and five further diplomas for runners up. The public will be able to admire these art pieces in the Olympic Museum in Lausanne as well as this summer at the Olympic Expo in Beijing. The winners will be invited to collect their prizes in Busan, Korea, during the VI World Forum on Sport, Education and Culture to be held from 25 to 27 September 2008.
